Please correct me if I'm misunderstanding, but wouldn't the precision plant
breeder check against the specific plant genome to make sure that the
nucleotide sequence that they were using for targeting was unique?

They've got some amazing gene-spliced plants and animals at UC Davis.  Yes,
the goats modified to express a natural human protein in their milk to save
3rd-world kids from the ravages of diarrhea are quite cute, and breed
normally.
