fermentation. I agree. I make my own pollen substitute feed, andoften 
have "leftovers" long past the notional 3 months "use by" date. Because 
its a Bee Friendly soft consistency, sometimes a mould will start to 
form on the surface. I just scrape that off and discard, and then feed 
the remainder as usual. I have never had bees reject it or suffer any 
untoward consequences. It works just fine. PeterD in Western Australia, 
where spring flora are well advanced but unusually cold conditions are 
holding the bees back quite noticeably.
