This spring we made up 100 nucs from three-pound packages. Five frames of
drawn comb, which had never been exposed to fluvalinate, coumaphous, or
Amitraz. Queens cages were put between two frames with screen exposed. One
week later the cork was removed from one end and the queen cages put back
for bees to release.

Two weeks later we had 78 laying queens. Remaining 22 colonies were
combined with colonies with laying queens. We subsequently had another 6
queens supercede or become drone layers.
