I have been doing some experiments with pure beeswax cylinders

The cylinders are approximately 2" in diameter and 2" inches high.

I have a waxed cord going through the center.

When I lite the waxed cord, the cord burns down to the intersection

of wax and cord, puddles, and then extinguishes.

Why does the flame go out?
