Yesterday I looked in on 6 colonies in a (difficult to access) yard. On Dec.31, I decided to give them each 2 AP23 patties as insurance. All are in 2 deeps and 2 supers. 3 were up under the inner covers and I spotted adult SHB skampering over the remains of the patties. Lifting the patties I saw 20-25 larvae on the top bars of these 3/6. That is a first for me in January in east central IL. Other yards are good. I'm removing the patties and replacing with fondant or candy asap. I'm hoping for some cold weather.
