Exactly what I thought. I guess you and I are the only ones who think that
gene splicing on the honey bee *may not be such a good idea*. A lot of
people, like David de Jong, think that what is needed is *less*
interference, not more. That the species could improve itself and adapt,
under appropriate circumstances.

The prospect of invasive species from accidental introduction pales before
the prospect of invasive *genes* accidently released by greedy entrepreneurs
and arrogant researchers who "know" more than us, but are not subjected to
adequate oversight. I think that the input of the beekeeping public should
be sought out. Do we want a GM Super Bee?
