I can only vouch for personal, anecdotal observations...which means nothing except it's something that works for me.

I'm a firm believer of harvesting early and often.  I will go through a yard in late-May through mid-June and pull out the frames from the top super that are fully capped, often found in the middle portion of the super.  I'll replace them with empty drawn comb.  It is my observation that the bees jump on the empty frames of drawn comb, and it seems to me as if they produce more honey.

Again, just personal observations.  The bees never seem to slack off from gathering the nectar.

Our nectar flow usually ends in the second week in July in which it's time to pull everything.
