... hard when solid, and ... "very liquid when melted".

At the proper temperature, beeswax is very maleable.  I can't name that
temperature, but I'm sure you can find it in a book on beeswax (I
recommend Bob Berthold's book, but I don't recall the title).  Anyway,
floating a hunk of beeswax in a water bath at the proper temperature
for a time sufficient to  bring the entire hunk up to temperature should
make the wax suitable for a pasta maker.  I'm not sure how good it'll be
for the pasta maker though.
