As Randy mentioned it does seem the supply of bees is long in Almonds this year. That should drive the price down, and so far has. No last minute reports of 6 framers bring 200. It also appears this season I see lots of yards with no bees, which means farmers are relying in the neighbors bee rentals. With nut prices down, its not a big surprise.

Its interesting to think as beeks how big of a deal we are, especially when you mention bringing in 1.8 million hives, but a long drive around the valley and I see just how tiny of a group we are, hives here and there, but in the sceme of all things AG, we are but a tiny bit player.

A trip to CA almonds is one of the best things a beek can do, just to get excitement and perspective.

Charles
