A word on Conservation.

Historically, beekeepers have
been conservationists / naturalists.

In 1947 National Awards were
given to the great beekeeper/
naturalist, Frank Pellett.

Of course we all know who he was:

Among the by products of his life
were 11 books on bees, wildflowers,
birds and nature. Editor of American
Bee Journal.  Books included were;
History of American Beekeeping,
American Honey Plants....

I have two quotes from a 1947
interview with Frank Pellett shortly
before his death in 1951:

===1===

White man is the most destructive
creature on earth. In these centuries.
- Pellett, Frank Chapman, 1947

===2===

We got to learn conservation
. . . or we will commit national
suicide by the destruction of our
resources.
- Pellett, Frank Chapman, 1947

===end quotes===

Best Wishes,
Joe Waggle
