having read through the USDA documents Lewis posted I did not see the "kick
test" listed but I did see the USDA recommended a "marble test" ( are we
having fun yet?)

The graph clearly showed the hive hit by the marble out of a *commercial*
slingshot had more response than the control hive ( not hit by the
slingshot).

I found interesting the test in 1974 by Boch & Rothenbuhler when they blew
*human breath* into the entrance.

Hopefully the breath test did not follow immediately after the marble test.

Still no reference to the "kick test".

Not sure which test would get the most response. The "kick test" or '"the
marble test"

The "kick test" would be up close and personal and the "marble test" could
be done as Gary said from a safe distance with field glasses.

In 51 years of being a bee enthusiast ( tired of apiarist & beekeeper) I
have not yet seen the hive I would not take a look at.

Many documented signs of Africanized genetics other than aggressiveness.
running on frames. leaving brood when working, queens trying to hide.
reaction to smoke negative. bees upset when hives are worked in the same
yard. Others which I am sure Jose can share.
