Adding to the AHB observations: I own a stinging insect pest control
company in Fla. and am now dealing with AHB in Central Fla. We used to
perform quite a few live honey bee removals, with eventual relocation
into a small commercial operation owned by a friend. No re-queening was
performed and production was good.

This spring the beeyard colonies went super defensive and everything had
to be requeened. They are back to a normal level of defensiveness, and
are monitored more closely. We deal daily with yellow jackets, so we are
used to very defensive Hymenoptera. These were as defensive as large
Southern Yellow Jacket colonies.

We've also seen an increase & spread of defensive ferals, so we've
ramped down our live removals, with mandatory requeening. We seeing
behaviours more frequently now,  that we rarely saw before.
