My father told of his sister and others dying of tuberculosis. I remember
polio and have two friends still crippled in the legs. I remember not being
able to leave the house for two weeks and our groceries brought and sit
outside the door. I remember the iron lung wards we visited family members
at.
The cause for polio was unknown then.
