My point exactly!  I've checked dysentery samples from all over, not just
Calif.  But nearly every beekeeper who sees streaking assumes that it's due
to nosema.

Seems that some myths never die.  As far as I can tell, there is virtually
no evidence that either N apis or N ceranae cause dysentery, yet the
misconception is in all the books, and even in the BIP survey.

On the other hand, nosema has long been known to cause sudden colony
depopulation with the presence of brood.  But now we call that phenomenon
"CCD."
