On January 8th Dr. John T. Ambrose passed away after a short battle with cancer.
Dr. Ambrose served as the North Carolina Extension Beekeeping Specialist from
1975 until 2000 when he became the Dean of the First Year College at NCSU and
had assumed the role of President of the North Carolina State Beekeepers
Association on January 1, 2015. Dr. Ambrose was surrounded by his family, and
was peaceful and comfortable at the end. Letters or cards of condolence may be
sent to:

The Ambrose Family
9025 Brook Garden Ct.
#103
Raleigh, NC 27615

For anything else, use the following address:

5613 Calton Drive
Raleigh, NC 27612

Preparations are still being made for a memorial service, but it looks
like it will likely not be until next weekend. A list of appropriate charities
to send a
donation in lieu of flowers is being compiled, and will be available
later in the week when Dr. Ambrose’s obituary is published. I will
send it to these lists when available.

Please forward this information on to other friends of Dr. Ambrose who
might not be included on these lists.
