When his work is queried the typical response it that he was an entomologist and knew what he was doing - as if that merits a bye ball re his claims about Amm. Beo Cooper had an agenda to promote Amm, same as Brother Adam had an agenda to promote his own Buckfast creation. 

I agree with you and would very much like to see some research into these areas.

However, the claim to extra longevity does seem borne out by the fact that A.m.m. will gather as much, or more, honey with a smaller population.  It also lives happily in a single brood national and, crucially, survives the winter on a very small amount of stores.
