The weather might be miserable for humans, but it isn't easy being a bee in
the current weather conditions, either. In fact, it’s pretty much a mystery
as to why, exactly, bees are having such a difficult time.

“We’ve looked at the issues surrounding colony collapse disorder (CCD), and
as a country, Canada, we have not declared colony collapse disorder the
predominant, or even a significant factor in the mortality that we're seeing
during the winter and early spring. We’re not seeing the symptoms,” Manitoba
Agricultural Food and Rural Initiatives’ provincial apiarist Rheal
Lafreniere said.
