You all are all wrong.  Tanging definitely works, and works every time!  You just gotta know how to do it correctly.
 
All you have to do is tang long enough and follow the swarm far enough and those babies will land!  I guarantee it!  I once followed a swarm for two miles banging some scrap tin.  Yep, they landed!
 
See?  "Scientific" evidence!
