This prompts me to ask a somewhat related question.  I recently watched a
video where a reputable queen breeder advocated using only 9 frames in
standard brood chambers to provide more space in between frames so as to
lessen the risk of accidently rolling a queen.  Are 9 frames better than 10
in this regard ? My intuition tells me the bees would draw out the 9 frames
deeper to re-establish the bee space.
