I agree with Martin, total waste of time. I have to wonder why you have surplus virgin queens in the first place. I worked for Shannon Wooten, and during the time that we were raising queen cells, we always had way more than we needed. 

He used to say, if you are not throwing away cells, you aren't raising enough. He wanted a steady supply, so that if he wanted to make nucs or cage mated queens, there would always be cells ready to put in. 

If there is anything I learned from him it's this: if you need a thousand queens, better raise two thousand. If you always double your projected needs, you stand a real good chance of getting what you actually need.
