Sadly, the French have done nothing to control Vespa velutina. They had the Natural History museum in Paris plot the advance of the menace and there is a map about 11 months out of date on their site, but that is all they did.
 Things changed when the government changed on the 17th of June and the new Minister of Agriculture decided that the fire service could now be called on to destroy nests.   
Let's hope it is the beginning of some serious action.
