I read somewhere (one of the several beekeeping books) that AFB-infected
hive bodies can be salvaged by brushing on a concentrated lye solution.
I do not know if this is recommended (or even allowed) by any authorities.
 
The bees, honey, frames and wax must be burned in a pit and the ashes
buried.
