Me: I was taught in grade school that education is less about accumulating info than it is about learning how to think. 
Gene: I went to some pretty sorry primary schools and I can't really say I learned much there.

Well, I confess, the public schools I went to were not the average. Being in affluent areas, they were well funded and in the 60s a lot of the teachers were quietly slipping progressive ideas into our minds. Soon I discovered the University Library, and the rudimentary computers of the late 60s, and began the path of self-education. The libraries were my temples.

There are a lot of gaps in my knowledge as a result of following my own path through life, but then -- nobody gets more than just part of the picture. The more you learn, the better you can see what we don't know. And by the way, I would not criticize somebody for being inarticulate, until they try to put the blame on the listener for misunderstanding. Actual communication requires skill at both ends.
