Scrap body parts sticky board might suggest insectivorous insects or shrews
but I don't think either of them would invade the hive in winter.

I've attempted to catalogue a few interpretations from sticky board
detritus.

Wax flakes and pupal shells seem especially informative and might deserve
some dialogue.

I'd be pleased to collaborate with others in order to share a document which
would offer peer reviewed guidance on this subject.
