Hello John & All,

> To slow down and appreciate this really adds a sweetness to life.

I told my first experiences with bees on BEE-L years ago but lost in the
archives so here goes again.
I realize there are others with the memory I have been blessed with but I
have found very few.
At age five I was living in Florida. Around our house were plants bees
visited. While the other kids played I caught and kept bees. All kinds of
bees. I did a "catch & release " as I only wanted to observe and not kill
the different insects. I was stung often. I picked many of insects off
flowers with my fingers and placed in jars. I was amazed at the way the bees
would get upset when they had to take a detour through my jars and amazed
when i released the bees went right back to work on the flowers.

My mother was worried about my fascination with bees and I remember my
mother discussing the issue with my father. My father said:
" Does he get stung". My mother said " yes all the time". Doesn't he swell
up my father asked" He did at first " she replied.
I was really scared they would make me stop but they didn't.
My fascination with bees has never changed but when you are around huge
holding yards of bees the bees take on a different being and when the bees
change into a different form I always think of a little bee going from
flower to flower to focus and realize what I am experiencing is commercial
beekeeper created and not the bees fault.
Calm is key when working bees.

Many may object to bees moved from coast to coast doing the nations
pollination but pollination is an important part of agriculture.
