I started planting Jerusalem artichoke for personal consumption. Last year I had 5 plants and did not notice any honey bees on the flowers of this plant from the sunflower family. This year I planted 30-40 plants and there were quite a few honey bees on the flowers.

What kind of yield can an acre of artichokes support? [The only thing that I could google is that Jerusalem artichoke honey is beneficial for diabetic children.] Perhaps some commercial beekeepers happen to go to artichokes.

Waldemar
