Not in the case of my bees in California, especially prior to varroa.
Unless I maintained constant selective pressure against overly defensive
bees, they would tend to drift back towards being more defensive.


You mentioned this in your last writing also,  curious  how long do you
think that takes?  I have not noticed ferals being any hotter then any other
hives,  I do 8-10 cutouts from loggers and power companies a year.
