Monitoring is worthwhile in any case. People should do this, not just treat on a calendar.  IPM dictates that you assess and then treat, as needed. It may be that the treatment time is about the same every year, but just as the calendar says spring starts in March, that doesn't mean it's safe to put your house plants out.

And there's this:

Also: Just because someone monitors and treats, it does not follow that they have done it correctly or in a timely fashion.
