Was pondering the same question; today was the first opportunity for me to go to my hives. All 5 are alive (stethoscope and a peek under the inner cover; too cold to open further). This for Dutchess County, north of NYC, backyard hobbyist.

After not being able to visit my apiary for almost 3 weeks and seeing all those reports about losses, I was expecting to find the worst. Treated once in the fall with Apivar last year, Thymol the year before, mite counts under control. Hives were full (two deep bodies) of honey going into winter and with plenty of bees, though I did feed in the fall until they wouldn’t take any more.
