Janet>Artificially high heat levels in the hive result in sterile drones.

Can you send along a reference for this because I'd like to know the temperature parameters? This summer I want to experiment with trapping drones and instead of freezing them, once the frames are capped, I want to heat them and kill the mites then return the frames to the colonies they came from. My goal is to preserve the drone stock that I want without creating a mite factory, but if the sperm is dead there's no point.
