I have always heard and thought that, workers wear their wings out is the

Am I all wet??  Maybe these bees do not work as hard, not flying as much.

Long lived queens only slow swarming, may not increasing production of
honey.

However, this slowing of swarming should increase production. Should keep
numbers up without swarms.
