Hi All

2 days ago I installed bee escapes on my hives. One of the hives was
my scale hive. I balanced the scale before I removed the supers @
373 #. After removing one deep and 3 mediums, the scale balanced @
145#, I then replaced the supers on top of the bee escape board. The
4 supers therefore weighed 228# including wooden ware, bees and
honey. Today I removed the supers to the extracting room and the
difference before and after was 216#. Could 12# of bees have been in
those supers? I forget how many bees in a pound.
