Can you please elaborate? At what stage as they are reared or later due to failure to mate or after mating.
Woyke who is an authority in this area  showed cell builder will accept any larvae but younger larvae are preferred due to have larger ovaries with many ovariols. Once a larvae age is over 48 hrs we can see transition into production of pie queens and get queen like workers or worker like queens. This work was published at JAR long time ago.
