James Tew, (Pofessor Emeritus of Entomology at Ohio State University), in his book "Beekeepers Problem Solver", Quid Publishing, 2015, states on p117: "It was thought that the laying workers, being like queens, could not find their way home. This is untrue. Laying workers will readily fly back to the original location."
