I should point out that economics is the primary reason I am an SAA member and not an SHA member.  Since my wife is an SHA member, I simply cannot justify the expense of a joint membership unless I am attending a meeting.  I also should note that I am also a member of 4 local state societes, one local archaeology chapter, and two regional archaeology groups, which stretches the archaeology dollar quite thinly.
