H-PUBLIC Subscribers:

I received this notice yesterday and visited the site noted below. I
think it might be worth your time to check it out. It appears that the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is seeking to rebuild the
original temple built at Nauvoo over 150 years ago, but the plans seem to
call for the demolition of the remaining fabric of the structure. The
website includes a very brief survey. I encourage you to register your
opinion. If anyone on the list knows further about the status of this
proposal, you may wish to keep H-PUBLIC subscribers of any activities
since the building does indeed possess historical significance.
