A few months ago, I discovered WMNR fine arts radio out of Monroe, CT.
Up to then I was getting tired of Public Radio who on every station was
devoting more and more time to Talk than to Music. As a matter of fact,
music selections chosen were getting shorter - a movement of this, an
etude, a tone poem, - most selections not over a few minutes.

Fine Arts radio devotes at least 90 percent of its schedule to playing
classical with a nice emphasis on the contemporary. T oday, just before
the Svedja Show (a show, by the way, that the Public Radio stations have
dropped in this area.) I was introduced to Symphony no. 5 by George Lloyd.
What a treat.

Just want you to know that the art of music is alive and well in
Connecticut and on Long Island where I live. I, of course, show my
appreciation, by financial support. Do listers throughout the country
have similar stations in their area? And I hope there are many NY area
listening listers who also enjoy WMNR
