I wonder if anyone can remind me (or better all of us) of the
extraordinarily funny exchange that took place (or is said to have taken
place) in conversation between Aaron Copland and Virgil Thompson?

I cannot recall the subject of the exchange (it might have been a reference
to their gayness?) but I'd much like to be reminded of it - privately or to
the list if someone has a good memory?

I was not malicious and as I'm giving another recital programme shortly I'd
like to have it back in my memory bank.
