The PBS special on Art of the Piano might be of special interest to a few
here.
Here's the announcement, heavily edited to omit scads of other good stuff.
PBS Previews: June 5-11, 2000

GREAT PERFORMANCES
"The Art of Piano"
Take an in-depth look at the piano and some of its finest performers
with this companion site that offers an historical overview of the
instrument, profiles of some of the most outstanding piano players of
the late-19th and early-20th century and an interview with American
virtuoso Ivan Davis, one of the few pianists to have been accepted as
a student by Vladimir Horowitz.

GREAT PERFORMANCES
"The Art of the Piano"
Wednesday, June 7, 2000 (9-11:00 pm)
Journeying through the traditions and stylistic currents that
have shaped the 20th-century history of the piano, this performance
documentary intersects other developments that have left their mark
on the music: recording techniques, instrument manufacture, Hollywood
films and even the psychology of the world's virtuoso performers.

I was reminded that PBS's affiliates broadcast at very different dates and
times around the country.

You can search by "art of piano" (don't use a 'the' or the search will
fail).
