I happened to see two of those Kempe sets in a store yesterday - one did
have Metamorphosen. But, getting into most or all of Strauss's orchestral
output is not one of the directions I'm currently embarked on. I wanted to
concentrate on Metamorphosen for now. And, one of the things that attracts
me to the Brandis Quartet/Nimbus recording is the Verklarte Nacht coupling.
I realize that Kempe's recordings of Strauss are considered top-of-the-line
and intend to get them when I feel the "entire Strauss orchestral" urge.
