Well, I think there's quite a bit of interest among list members,
although we do seem to be a unique group.  Contemporary music is unfamiliar
to most listeners of classical music; much of it does not sound like what
came before, and the typical listener feels that his/her musical world is
threatened by the new music.  It's mainly humans being human-like.  We are
territorial and we like security.

I agree with Keith that music is not at an impasee.  Its future is unknown
to us, but as long as creative and musically gifted individuals continue to
write and explore, there should be much worthy innovation to digest in the
next century.
