Have we already named some recordings released this year who are able
to compete with the top recommendations of the past or even supersede
reference recordings? Looking at the many recordings I bought or listened
to I want to name two performances:

- Bruckners 9th by Gunter Wand and the BPO (RCA)
- Mahlers 5th by Chailly (Decca)
