I think it worth noting that Klaus Heymann (or someone claiming so to be,
but I think it's authentic) just posted to rec.music.classical.recordings
on the future of the American Classics series. One plan mentioned was
the intention to hopefully record all the Harris symphonies (finally!).
Instead of reproducing his post here, I think I'll just refer people
there...
(I have no financial connection whatsoever with Naxos or the series, but
this promise of a complete recording of Harris' symphonies, in addition
to their other projects, piqued my interest.)
As to the series itself I have found the Lees 4th, Foote chamber music
(have heard part, on the radio) and the Piston violin concerti to be very
valuable recordings, and am looking forward to the announced recording of
Creston symphonies 1-3.
