Thielemann couldn't be more wrong.  He hasn't appeared here in two years
and his last set didn't go well.  But you never know.....

The front runner is Roberto Abbado, with whom the orchestra players fell
heads over heals in love in a single concert last summer.  The chemistry
was phenomenal and a committee has been following him around since then.
He's been hastily scheduled in for the week on April 6-8, conducting the
Mahler 7th.  If that goes well he'll likely be offered the position.
