Yes. Among the recently deceased there is Schnittke, Holmboe and Messiaen
- very different, all fascinating in their own ways. (Angela Hewitt's cd
of Messiaen piano music seems to live in my cd drawer recently particularly
the three (of twenty) Views of the Infant Jesus with which she ends her
recital.) Among those still living there is Norgard, and Gubadalina, just
to name two favorites out of about twenty I could list.
