What does Mr. Satz mean by "on its own." It is a sad but well known
fact that none of the United States' most pretigious opera companies and
symphony orchestras can survive only from true "earned" income.  Additional
public and private support is an integral part of these organizations.
And this is becoming more and more the case for European groups as the
governement subsidies diminish.  I assume Mr. Satz does not wish to deny
these arts organizations the type of supplemental income they now enjoy and
depend on.
