I totally agree with Donald Satz's review of Hickox's recording of the
Paukenmesse.  Great pieces, great recording, great sound, great view of
the works.  Period.

By the way, don't underestimate Nikolaus Harnoncourt's reading of the Mass,
a few years ago.  If you like the martial aspects of the Mass, the rolling
of the drums and all that, you might just find him having the edge.
