Hurray Steven!  I too am a great fan of the Fruebeck de Burgos recording
of Carmina.  As for Thielemann....I have not heard his "Carmina" but I did
hear his recording of the "Prelude and Liebestod" from Tristan.....And that
was so grindingly plotted and unspontaneous that I now put it at the top of
the list for Liebestods in the missionary position!  Is his Carmina as
stilted?
