The Keytempo directories of music and musicians: for information
1. New online directories
The online Keytempo international directories of musicians will be launched
in October 2000. This is intended to make it much easier for musicians
with the same interests to contact each other, and will avoid many of the
over-commercial aspects of various other websites on music.
At local level, they will enable people in the same locality to contact
each other, for example to form choirs or ensembles, or to promote more
frequent concerts and festivals, or to find details of suppliers of music
scores and records in a particular area.
At national or international level it will enable professionals, young
musicians, agents, publishers, recording companies, concert promoters etc.
to contact each other to assist the growth of careers whatever the musical
specialism.
The key advantages will be the scale (international, national and local),
the organisation (detailed indexing of many categories), their ease of use
(information to be available in many different languages), and their growth
pattern (other information and services on music will be added as the
directories grow, in conjunction with other companies with a track record
in provision of music).
2. Getting listed
Currently we are compiling the national directories (the International
directory will be a later phase). All of the directories will have a
parallel arrangement for ease of use.
Entries in the Keytempo national directories are free: entries are
invited from musicians with access to email. Just send an email to
<[log in to unmask]> saying GET KEYLIST, and brief instructions
will be sent to you straight away.
Keytempo Ltd. is still fairly new: please reassure yourself that this is
not a spam or similar: Keytempo intends to be one of the largest websites
on music as a whole over the comming months and years.
The directories will cover:
- Music organisations, practice, and practitioners
- Vocal music (operas, choirs, ensembles)
- Vocal music (individual voices)
- Orchestral music
- Chamber music
- Keyboard music (also electronic and percussion music)
- String music
- Wind music
- Other traditions of music
The directories will enable instant contact between musicians from the
online directory, and will also provide useful lists which can be freely
downloaded or printed for later reference. Regular updating to ensure
that information remains current will also be a key feature of these
directories.
Keytempo Ltd. is also cooperating with existing organizations, companies
and societies concerned with music to ensure that the information provided
matches (and enhances) local needs as well as national and international
needs.
It is planned the Keytempo directories will be the largest online
information source on musicians and musical activity, after the official
launch date in October 2000.
I look forward to hearing from list members who would like to benefit from
this: emailing <[log in to unmask]> saying GET KEYLIST should tell
you all you need to know.
