Have we no people on the list who started with Russian composers. The
Cold War ended years ago! When I was in grade10. many years ago, sigh,
my older brother and I used to go to a group which met every Friday night.
They had what was then called a "high-fi". The two records we wore out
were the l812 Overture by Tchaikovsky and Rimsky Korsakov"s Capricco
Espanol and Great Russian Easter Overture. The next year we got a high-fi,
joined the Columbia Record Club and one called Music Treasures of the World
which came in plastic sleeves [no debate over cover pictures - they all
said Music Treasures of the World on them. The labels said what was on
them. From there on there was no stopping me.
Best Regards to all,
